I swear that I'll start doing these movie by movie. This all at once thing is fucking ridiculous. No wonder I don't want to write this monstrosity. I can't seem to stop watching movies though. So I guess the show must go on.

As always, I celebrated Christmas by some rewatching of the classics. It's been quite a while since I watched these movies and I've seen them quite a few times, so these reviews may be rather lackluster (for example, I seem to be admitting love for each film), but I haven't written anything in forever and am starting to doubt the existence of this column. And I will not let this column not exist.

I recorded one this morning, using my iphone as a microphone and Lemon Dream Podcast Maker. I like the scraggly burroughs way my voice sounds early in the morning. Might do a reading from burroughs now just to make that point.

So I'm a huge deadline bandit again. Deadlines crashing into deadlines and I haven't even written down the names of the movies yet. Part of the problem with this list of movies is that everytime I looked at it, I swore that I had already reviewed them. Serious deja vu type shit, especially with 2012, a movie so thoroughly destructive that I wanted to review it right away and wanted to go on a disasterfest afterwards, but ended up just basking in the awe of the world having been destroyed before my very eyes. Maybe I had survivor's guilt. Maybe I just couldn't get my hands on the keyboard. Anyway, whatever it was, it's gone now, and now it's time for this show to go on. The cinematic spree starts now.

This Month's Debt: +17

I am a huge deadline bandit, but I'm done feeling sorry for myself about being so far over deadline. I'm done thinking that the column is going to end, simply because I haven't written it. The obvious solution is to write the column and be done with it, moving on to the next deadline. No reason to get bogged down in the details. I bought a heavy philosophy book, scored the last two parts of PKD's trilogy, was loaned Eggers' third book even though I didn't finish his second, and I'm still working my way through an HG Wells philosophical classic. So I'm reading books, to be sure (with book debt hot on my tail), but the two I finished this "month" are very light. A book about baseball and yet another Holmes/Russell mystery. And now, without further ado, the polysyllabic spree!
